Graduate Student Work
The Conway School of Landscape Planning and Design, Conway, MA

“I have worked with the Conway School of Landscape Design for close to a decade. What consistently strikes me about CSLD's program is the energy, enthusiasm, and commitment that it fosters within its students. Each year the program graduates a cohort of people committed to using intentional design to make the world a better place for people and their biotic neighbors. When thinking about ecologically sound landscape design, Conway is the program that comes first to my mind.”

Residential Design, Turners Falls, MA

Surveyed, conducted site analyses and designed a productive, sustainable landscape for a one-acre residential site. As part of the analysis, researched and provided information and guidelines for addressing a severe erosion issue, a major concern of the client. Re-designed driveway and carport and added a mudroom, extensive food producing gardens, fruit tree allee, terrace and fire pit gathering areas, connecting the clients and their home to the nearby Connecticut River.

Willie Ross School for the Deaf Master Plan, Longmeadow, MA

Member of a three-person student team chosen to design an outdoor classroom on WRSD’s new .75 acre parcel of “urban wild” and create a master plan combining the entire 2.75-acre school campus. Extensive research on Deaf culture, employing sustainable practices, rigorous analyses as well as direct input from staff and students informed the design which fully integrates the radically different parcels visually and physically. Provided client with specific phasing and cost analysis to aid in fundraising and implementation of WRSD’s Campus Enhancement Plan and new master plan.
